But in her hometown of Nahant, she has a little luck."It is harder to find," she says. "I'm very fortunate. I get a lot of the old sea glass that comes in from Boston Harbor. Plus, I have my secret places."On the shore, Tanfani gathers antique glass, much of which she says is likely from trash dumped overboard by trade ships. She uses the pieces she collects from here and her secret spots to create jewelry. This weekend, she's bringing her ocean inspired designs to the sixth annual Arts Fest Beverly, a festival promoting the arts and the city.Tanfani's work, which includes necklaces, earrings, pendants, anklets and bracelets, features sea glass and sterling silver. She started collecting sea glass for fun and turned it into a business, Treasure Beach, a few years ago."When I decided to quit my job, I started to play around with (making sea glass jewelry)," she says. "It became a hobby. I did a few shows, and it got bigger, and now it's big."Tanfani exhibits her work at art shows and in galleries across New England.
